Derbyshire Elite Academy.
The Pro Coach Derbyshire Elite Academy was a new concept founded in October 2007. The Derbyshire Elite Academy simulates Professional Cricket in that the training sessions are structured to mirror them of a Professional cricketer. Pro Coach believes this Academy to be the ultimate in youth cricket coaching and should be considered if the young cricketer has ambitions to seriously develop all aspects of their cricket. There is no other cricket coaching that compares in standard or in structure in the Derbyshire or Midlands area.
Following an extremely successful winter 2007-8, the Derbyshire Elite Academy will be running again at regular intervals from October 2008 to January 2009. Of the 2007 Elite Academy, nearlly all attendees were selected for District level and 8 went on to represent their County having not done so before.
How it works.
Here are the benefits of the Derbyshire Elite Academy cricket coaching:-
- 10 regular two and a half hour training sessions throughout the winter (Sunday afternoons).
- All the Cricket coaching comes from current or ex Professional Cricketers, very experienced in the game.
- Video and slow motion analysis of each attendee's batting and bowling.
- Coaching Masterclasses run by International cricketers.
- Entry as Derbyshire Elite Academy into the National Academy indoor tournament (Derbyshire current holders)
- 1 to 1 coaching session on the bowling machine.
- Derbyshire Elite Academy tracksuit and training wear provided.
Pro Coach believes this will become the stepping stone into Professional Cricket.
Elite Academy age structure.
There will be two Derbyshire Elite Academies. One will be the under 12 Academy, and the other will be an under 16 Academy. They will train on the same day but at seperate times. We recommend young cricketers aged 7 to 12 apply for the u12 Academy and young cricketers aged 13 to 16 apply for the u16 Academy.
Young cricketers from Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Cheshire and Shropshire who would like expert cricket coaching throughout the winter can apply.
Venue and Dates/Times.
The Derbyshire Elite Academy will be based at Trent College in Long Eaton, Derbyshire. Pro Coach believe this to be the best cricketing facility in the East Midlands and a place which is very central and easily accessible from Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire and beyond.
The Derbyshire Elite cricket coaching will run every Sunday afternoon from the 19th October to Xmas. u12s Academy from 1 till 3.30pm / u16s Academy from 3.30pm till 6pm.
October 19th, 26th
November 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th
December 7th, 14th and 21st.
